The Kulot Pet Supplies Origin Story
From Pandemic Passion to Pet Store
The story of Kulot Pet Supplies really kicked off in 2021, right in the middle of the pandemic. Like many people, we found ourselves spending a lot more time at home. For us, this meant more quality time with our five poodles. It was during this period that we really felt the pinch of trying to get essential pet supplies. This personal struggle, combined with the inspiration from our poodles' adorable curly (or kulot) hair, planted the seed for our business. What began as a small effort, just supplying dog food to our neighbors within our subdivision, gradually grew. This humble beginning eventually led to the exciting opening of our very first physical store on May 10, 2024.
Inspired by Five Poodles
Our five poodles are more than just pets; they are the heart and soul behind Kulot Pet Supplies. Their curly coats, which inspired our name, are a constant reminder of the joy and love pets bring into our lives. We understand firsthand the needs of pet parents because we are pet parents ourselves. This deep connection fuels our passion to provide the best for other pet owners in our community. We aim to make the process of getting pet supplies as joyful and stress-free as possible, just like spending time with our own furry family members. It’s this genuine love for animals that truly sets us apart.
A Humble Beginning
Kulot Pet Supplies started small, with just a few neighbors in our subdivision needing dog food. We saw a need and decided to fill it, operating out of our own home. It was a simple, grassroots effort, driven by a desire to help fellow pet owners during a challenging time. This initial phase was all about building connections and understanding the local community's needs. From those early days of supplying food within our neighborhood, the business steadily grew. This organic growth paved the way for us to open our first physical store, a significant milestone that allowed us to serve a wider audience and expand our range of products. We're proud of our roots and how far we've come, always remembering the humble beginnings that shaped our mission.

Essential Pet Care Tips from Kulot
We know that keeping your furry friends happy and healthy is a top priority. Here at Kulot Pet Supplies, we’ve picked up a few things over the years that we’re happy to share. It’s not always about the fancy stuff; sometimes, it’s the simple, consistent care that makes the biggest difference.
Keeping Your Dog’s Coat Healthy
A shiny, healthy coat is often a reflection of your dog's overall well-being. Regular grooming is key, of course, but what you feed them plays a huge role too. Look for foods rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. These are great for skin and coat health. We carry several brands that are specifically formulated with these nutrients. Brushing your dog a few times a week not only helps remove loose hair and prevent mats but also distributes natural oils, which keeps the coat looking its best. Don't forget to check for any skin irritations or parasites during your grooming sessions.
Ensuring Your Pet Drinks Enough Water
It sounds basic, but hydration is super important for your pet's health. Just like us, they need water to keep everything running smoothly. But how much is enough, and how do you know if they're getting it? Let's break it down. Most dogs and cats need about an ounce of water per pound of body weight daily. So, a 10-pound pet needs roughly 10 ounces of water. Always have fresh, clean water available. Some pets are picky, so try a pet water fountain; the movement can encourage them to drink more. If your pet seems to be drinking a lot more or less than usual, it's a good idea to chat with your vet.
Budget-Friendly Pet Care Solutions
Taking care of a pet doesn't have to break the bank. We believe that quality care should be accessible. One way to save is by buying in larger quantities if your budget allows, especially for food and litter. We also offer repacked pet food options, which can be a great way to try a new food or manage your budget without sacrificing quality. Look for sales and loyalty programs at your local pet store. Sometimes, simple DIY toys or grooming tools can be just as effective as expensive store-bought ones. It’s all about smart choices and knowing where to find good value. You can find great deals on dog dry food and other essentials right here at Kulot.
